Interesting Binding Technique

I finished the baby quilt and decided to try the (new to me) binding technique that they showed me at Wilson's Sewing Center in Hagerstown, Md. First, you make a 2 1/4" binding and iron right sides together. Second, you sew the binding on the front of the quilt as usual. Third (this is the cool part) you take a product called Steam-A-Seam 2 and press the sticky side down on top of the binding seam allowance on the back of the quilt. You remove the Steam-A-Seam 2 paper and press the binding down to the back side of the quilt. Then the fun part! You know all of those decrative stitches on your sewing machine that you never use? Pick one that you like, and use it on the edge of the front binding to hold it in place. You get a very cute result on the front and back and no hand whipping! Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't use this on just any quilt, but I think it is very appropriate for the more casual quilts that you are making. And it only took me a half an hour to sew around the quilt. That's probably the best part!!
Keep coming up with those great ideas. I think this one is a winner.
