Happy Halloween!

I went into JoAnn Fabrics for some interfacing for Amy Butler's "liverpool" tunic that I am making and what a mob scene. The young guy in line behind me was holding a bolt of muslin and asked me how much yardage he should buy - his costume - a mummy : ) I didn't have a good answer for that one, but between myself and another shopper we managed to get him a 40% off coupon. I quess the majority of us are procrastinators. I haven't even carved the pumpkin yet, but I did manage to buy the candy.
Carly, at Web Fabrics in Purcellville, has been nominated for Loudoun County entrepeneur (sp?) of the year. To celebrate, she is going to have an open house Friday, Nov. 13th from 6pm until 8pm. She wants customers to bring projects that they are working on - not projects that are finished. It's funny, I usually have a boat load of unfinished quilts, but right now I'm caught up. I will have to start the Maisy quilt so that I have something to show. Plan to be there if you can - it sounds like fun.
I don't know about you, but today has been a strange one (could it be because it's Halloween)? I went to Costco and bought so much stuff that I couldn't push the cart across the parking lot. Thank you to the nice lady that helped me get the cart up the hill, and thank you to the kind Costco employee who watched my cart while I ran up and down the isles in the parking lot trying to find my car! I managed to lose my car again at the grocery story and almost left my bag of groceries in the self check out, if the sweet lady behind me hadn't given me a heads up. On the way home, I stopped to buy gas and discovered not only did I not have my gas credit card, but I also did not have my driver's license with me. Believe me, I was very well behaved behind the wheel on the way home. I think I should stay in the house for the remainder of the day.
I'm going to start sewing the tunic today - no quilting or piecing. I haven't made any clothes since Emily was in elementary school. Should be fun!
Happy Sewing!
Linda
