Friends & Family

Yesterday, my husband and I threw and engagement party for our daughter and her fiance.  They are a very happy couple and lucky to have so many warm and genuine friends.  It was fun to meet our future son in law's mother and father.  Both lovely people.  There were friends from the school where Emily teaches and friends from Steve's workplace, Emily's roomates from college and a whole host of other fun people.  We feel very lucky that Emily is so happy and Steve is such a wonderful young man.

That being said, you can understand why I have not gotten too much quilting done recently.  I have been running in circles pulling things together for the party.

I did manage to go to Carly's open house on Friday night to help celebrate her nomination for Loudoun County Entrepeneur.  I saw some awesome quilts and works in progress. I consider myself a traditional quilter, but some of the things that people are doing with fabric these days is truly amazing.  I always love to go into a quilt shop - the colors and textures are so inspiring.  I kept myself in line - no fabric purchases until the completion of Maisy.  I also have the clothesline covered for another "Bali Bag".  That shouldn't take too long to sew together. I also want to post a picture of Amy's Butler's "Liverpool Tunic" on the blog.  The tunic looks great over jeans and fits perfectly - no alterations to the pattern needed - yeah!

It's house cleaning day.  The spiders must consider this place the Ritz Carlton.  They have cob webs everywhere not to mention their friends the "dust bunnies".  Oh well, can't be having fun all of the time - although I'm working on it!

Keep creating - it's good for the soul.

Linda
