Where is the new year going?

Emily's Wedding Shower (Small) Apologies for not keeping up with the blog; my website was down for about a week and a half.  I could not make any changes and you could not see the home page slideshow.  That definitely needs to be updated.  I have been work on some amazing quilts.

I can't believe that we are approaching the end of January!  Quilting everyday and getting home after 7 pm and time just slips away.  But isn't that always the case when you are doing something that you love!  Happily, Steve has taken a liking to cooking - this is quite a bonus for me.  Not being much of a cook myself, I suppose it's his self defense mechanism : )

Went to my daughter's wedding shower on Saturday with a very good friend of mine.  We had two sets of directions and two hours to get there.  Between the two of us laughing and talking, we got horribly lost and had to bother the hostess several times by phone for help.  Needless to say, we were the last to arrive.

Emily is counting down the days to the wedding in March (in the photo she is holding the quilt label for her wedding quilt).  I've had to do nothing but throw an engagement party.  I already have my dress and shoes and the hotel reservation.  All we need to do now, is take dance lessons so that we don't look like buffoons on the dance floor.  I think that Emily is going to take a dance class with Steve to the song that they have picked for the father/daughter dance.  I sound calm and I am relaxed - I really haven't been asked to do much for the wedding plans - but come wedding day I will be a boo hooing mess.  I am so sentimental!  I am going to have to stock up on the waterproof mascara or it will be "racoon" eyes for the pictures.  Not a good look : ) You can see pictures of the wedding shower on my Facebook page.

My Dell laptop recently suffered a painful death.  After much thought, I purchased my first MAC Book.  I am definitely a PC girl so there is going to be a big learning curve.  Luckily Emily is well versed on the MAC and I will be in good hands.

Back to work.  I had to take a day off from quilting to get caught up with paperwork and finances.  I always put these tasks off, but I feel so much better when everything is accounted for and filed away.  So with a big smile on my face, I think that I will play with my MAC and see what happens.

Have a great day - regardless of what activities you are pursuing.

Linda
