The best of both worlds!

I think that I have the best of both worlds. I can long arm quilt all during the work day and then come home and dig in the dirt!
Planting is another passion. This year I bought hanging baskets full of flowers, tore them apart and planted them into very large pots - lots of room for their little "legs" - and as a result, I have beautiful blooming pots on my deck at least a month earlier than I normally would. To take credit for this idea would be wrong. My husband actually did this with the flower pot at work last year and I was rather envious that his planting results were far better than mine. So let's just agree that copying his idea is the sincerest form of flattery!
Back to quilting. Today I worked on two adorable small wallhanging that I will have posted on the website slideshow and gallery (as soon as I take the pictures!) any day now. With the warm weather back - and with my pots blooming - I would like to take photographs of the quilts outside again. I will tell you that keeping up with the blog, the Twitter page, Facebook and the website is almost a full time job in itself. But, I love to show you the beautiful things that cross may long arm machine everyday.
Personally, i still have the Maisy quilt to finish (I heard that Eric Carle has another quilt kit in the works or already on the market about a very busy spider!) I want to make another Moda Charm Pack quilt with the Charm Packs that I found in Catonsville at the Seminole Sampler. That technique is so simple and fun that the time flies by and you are finished before you know it. My kind of quilt.
Now for those who have more patience than I, Lois, at Needles and Pins, called me yesterday to request a quilting date for another "Civil War" quilt. Even if you are not into this type of fabric or quilt, you have to see the two she has already completed.
I was lucky enough to quilt them and they were absolutely perfect - even with all of those teeny tiny pieces! Can't wait to see this one.
I am going to update Twitter and Facebook and then head outside to "play" in the dirt!
Happy planting,
Linda
