It's Saturday - where did that free flower watering go?

I was relying on the that nasty thunder storm that I heard in the distance late in the afternoon to water my flowers on the deck (and give me an excuse not to have to mow the lawn)!
Well, where I live - the thunder and gray clouds disappeared and the sun is now out. I did not mow the grass - but we did have to hit the planted pots - they were sagging.
I love summer, but it comes with a lot of outdoor responsibilites doesn't it? Weeds growing regardless of if whether it has rained or not - and with me scared to death of coming in contact with the dreaded poison ivy or worse - snakes!!!!!!
I met two great women at Web fabrics today that have quilts for me to work on!!!! Yes - just like Christmas - you never know what you are going to get : ) Jennifer even has an adorable seven year old with her own Janome sewing machine with Hello Kittie on it. That is so great from my point of view. I was starting to wonder if the younger generation would ever be interested in sewing - much less quilting. This gives me hope - so does the show Project Runway. Creating with fabric has fascinated me since I was ten - boy was that a long time ago.
I went to the Chantilly Quilt Show last weekend. Good job ladies. I always love the vendors, but the quilts this year were a cut above the norm. Beautiful work and fantastic long arm as well as hand quilting.
The only thing that I purchased, besides long arm supplies, was a flexible felt "quilt wall" that can even be taken down and transported in it's own little black bag. I have always wanted a wall to devote to quilt pieces - I get so tired of crawling around on the floor to plan a quilt. And my "granddog" always manages to show up right about the time the pieces are all over the floor - and of course she has to sit right on them while she is wagging her tail and telling me how happy see is to see me :)
Got to love a dog - but just like grandchildren, they do go home with their "parents"
Enjoy the coming summer!
Linda
