Wow, how long has it been since I blogged anything?

Ok, I admit, I am a bad blogger.  I don't even know what "blog" stands for.  Back in my day - here I go again sounding like an old woman - we just picked up the phone or sent a letter if we had something to say. I do like keeping in touch with quilters and I enjoy writing, but it's time management that gets in the way.  So many projects, quilts to quilt and so little time : )

If you haven't looked, I have lots of new quilt photos in the slideshow on my website home page.  Trying to get up to date with that takes time also - but I love looking at the quilts and think that you probably do too.  They are all so different, and while I may not always capture their true essence (let's face it - I am not a photograhper) at least you get an idea of I have been working with.

A sweet woman contacted me yesterday and wanted to know how long it would take to have a quilt quilted.  Not really knowing just what that question meant - because of course custom quilts take longer that edge to edge quilts, densely quilted designs are more labor intensive than those that aren't.  So after exchanging several emails, what I discovered was she was under the impression that some with some quilters you have to wait months or even a year to get on their list, some don't take new customers etc.  She was discourgaged because she thought that she was making quilts that would never be finished.

I told her that using a computerized machine gives me the flexability of accomplishing a lot of work in a shorter period of time.  I currently have a lot of quilts in the line up waiting to be worked on, but if someone needs something in a hurry, I simply call around and see if any of my customer's have a particular deadline, and if not, I simply start working on the quilt that might be needed for a graduation, baby gift or in Cindy's case a club showing (cannot say no to Cindy - she is so great to me that I like to return the favor).

So don't despair, if there is something that you need completed, I can fit you in and we can have fun picking patterns and thread colors - there are so many to choose from!

Well, there is no more delaying it, I have to get outside and mow the lawn and beat back the weeds (that's the worst part).  I told myself I was going to get it done early this morning when it was cooler, but here it is pushing noon and I've only been outside to take quilt pictures.  Can you tell which activity takes presidence?

Have a great weekend!

Linda
