Last Bali Bag

You know, maybe you are not like me, but after four Bali Bags - I finally have them down to about eight hours.  And of course, the last bag was the best.  Go figure. But as much as I love that bag - I am finished.  I do know someone who made eight bags.  Now that is dedication!

I have to cut down on the amount of "stuff" that I haul to the office.  I am always afraid that I am going to need that book - or that sewing tool - of course I don't - but it does not stop me from carrying a laptop computer, a book bag full of "stuff" and at least one Bali Bag full of more "stuff".  Sounds like at George Carlin comedy bit!

Well, I paid the price.  Too much stuff threw me off balance and I fell down some steps at the office and tore something - doctor talk goes right over my head (I really like my Dr. - in my book he is the best : )  Of course, I should stop and elevate and ice, but the quilting takes over, and I stand in front of my machine for hours on end to finish projects and meet deadlines.  I still love the quilting - I love to see the smiles on the customer's faces.  It is such a great feeling!  If I have turned you down for custom quilting within the last couple of days, I apologize.  The foot just won't cooperate - but I'm still up and running with edge to edge.  E2E doesn't take as much "babysitting" or hands on measuring and watching as custom does.

We were lucky enough to be with some family at the Bay in Tidewater, Va. last weekend.  It is always so much fun.  We always play like kids - puzzles, croquet, badmitton and - a little cold for water play - but such a release when you work as hard as Steve and I do.  I felt like I was recovering from jet lag because of the long drive home and the traffic on I-95 north.  That's the downside : )

I am so happy because I have the entire day tomorrow to sew and sew and sew!!!  My favorite thing to do : )

Oh, one more thing, Hillbrook Inn (where I purchased my Gammill Machine) is having a workshop on "Texture Magic' next weekend from 10 until 2.  Olga from our area is giving he workshop - and if you know Olga - you know how talented she is.

I  am planning to go - call me if you need a ride.

Let's finish a quilt. I have at least two to get under my belt : )

Linda
