After a few bad moves, my blue quilt it ready for binding : )

I have to tell you, that this has been a fun experience. From picking out the fabrics, coming up with a design and then magically, the perfect border and edge to edge show up in my November cCub patterns.
I used Glide thread in Chartreuse for both the border and edge to edge. Glide thread is such a wonderful thread to work with and has just a beautiful finish to it. Almost looks like silk. I must confess though, that I originally did the border with the Glide thread and loved it. Then I got the bright idea that navy blue thread might just make the edge to edge design "pop". Not only was that a disaster, but I also sized the edge to edge pattern too large for the proportion of the quilt. Anyone that knows me, has a clue what I did next! I took the quilt off the frame - put a customer's quilt on - and spent the week taking out all of the navy blue stitches. When my quilt was back on the frame, I sized the pattern smaller by half and used the Glide thread with great results. Now - binding will go on today.
As you can see by looking at the home page and the gallery, I have had some really interesting and challenging quilts to work with. It is rather like Christmas when a customer calls with something for me to quilt because I never know what I am going to get! There are many talented quilters out there.
Sorry to my faithful customers with deadlines whose quilts I had to refuse because of the "ankle incident". I took care of it so that I could be back up and running quickly and that worked! Sensible shoes and I am good as new : )
I'm looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with family this year. With so many cooks, I am still pondering what I will contribute to the celebration. I love this time of the year but I just can't figure how we got here so fast! Let's just hope that we have some snow this winter, but not as much as last year. Hopefully, that was one of those hundred year events - if there is such a thing. I know my daughter (a first grade teacher) enjoyed it! But I think most teachers secretly enjoy snow days as much or more than their students.
Lucky me, I have some personal projects to work on today and then I get to look forward to a beautiful custom quilt to play with next week. Notice I didn't say work on, I just don't think that I will ever consider quilting "work".
Enjoy the weekend. Today is beautiful, get out and enjoy the colors.
Linda
