Blogs - who has time to keep up : )

Posted by adesigninmotion on Thursday, May 26th, 2011

I know that I haven't posted anything to my "blog" for quite some time (what does that word really mean?); but I am keeping pace with the quilting, bookkeeping, working at Web fabrics and the latest family situation that has hit the family by surprise. There are also flowers to plant, grass to be mowed and even grocery shopping to be accomplished!  Good grief - I was even "hooked" on American Idol this year - which I have not watched since the first season - and that takes up precious time (although it is just delicious curled up on the sofa doing nothing but being a potato : )

There should be all of these interesting photos of my "quilts in progress" - but how am I going to figure out time to do that - get up off the couch at night - well good idea but I am hooked on the darn thing after a long day of quilting, cutting fabric, mowing the lawn and trying to keep up with the weeds etc. etc.- the motto around here is "early to bed and early to rise".  Steve and I are both running to play catch up!

No complaints, I feel lucky to be able to quilt most of the week and then spend a day working in a fabric shop playing with the newest shipment of fabric - oh goodness when that UPS truck pulls up, it is just like Christmas.

I have been behaving myself at the shop, knowing that I have no time to sew - so I am keeping my fabric purchases to a bare minimum - at least for now - and believe me it gets harder and harder as the new fabric flows in through the back door.

I go into Needles and Pins (another trouble spot for my fabric weakness) to pick up quilts - but so far - I hardly look left or right - pick up my customer's quilt and presto, I am safely back in the car.  Don't get me wrong - Cindy's shop is packed with delightful temptations - more than the mind can handle.

For now, I will try to get some more completed quilts on the website to at least prove that I have been doing something!  And thanks you to all of those talented quilters out there that can keep their nose to the grindstone and continue to turn out the most amazing work.

Linda
