Craft and Art Show on Carroll Creek

Posted by adesigninmotion on Saturday, June 4th, 2011

Today was a lovely day to visit a craft show.  I saw some really interesting pictures made with fabric - and gorgeous pictures made only with threads.  The shading on these threaded pictures was truly amazing.  Of course, there was a multitude of jewelry and handcrafted pots and plates, wire sculptures - you name and it was there.  The craftsmen will be there through tomorrow also.(I'm sorry that I didn't take a camera with me so that you could see some of the wonderful things for sale.)

Tonight is also "Gallery Walk" in Frederick, Md. This means that there is always a theme and all of the stores and restaurants stay open late into the evening.  I was reading the Frederick News Post yesterday only to find Frederick was ranked 8th in the country for being an "artsy" community.  Pretty impressive I'd say. We truly do have a very special revitalized downtown area.

I also had lunch in Leesburg Va.with a wonderful customer that I consider a dear friend. (Her latest quilt is the Virginia Tech college quilt on the slideshow.) We talked so much at lunch that I almost left the parking lot with the quilt still in her car.  Now that would have been annoying to say the least.

Enjoy your weekend wherever to happen to live, but if you live in or close to Frederick, Md. go downtown and enjoy yourself.  It is well worth the trip.

Happy thoughts,

Linda
