Steps towards a finished first block!

I cut the pieces out and laid them on a piece of cardboard so I could carry them between the ironing board and the sewing machine. Remember, 2 1/2" squares are cut on the diagonal and 2 1/2" strips are cut into 2 1/8" squares.
After sewing the diagonal seam - I cut off the "ears". Easier for piecing and less bulk.
I use very thin straight pins to hold the seams together. Careful here - this helps make those nice points.
Voila - a finished block with perfect points! Linda
