HomeGallery › Making a quilt

If you have checked the blog, then you know what this is all about.  I wanted a simple way to show my customer's the things they need to know to make an accurate, square quilt and I also need a baby quilt for a gift, so I decided to combine the two.

I have shown you the pattern that I drew - a very simple Clay's Choice. I picked a Bali Pop of 2 1/2 strips and I already had a Moda jelly roll in bright solids.  I want this quilt to be fun and colorful.

Next step, I be working on Electric Quilt 7 to give you the size I intend to make the quilt as well as an overview of what it should look like. After that, we will make a "sample" square to test your 1/4" seam allowance (the most important element in making a great quilt) then we will proceed from there.

Whether you just want to follow along to get some tips or would like to try your hand at this simple quilt, have fun and I hope you pick up some pointers along the way!
